Pronounce The French RIf you’re new to learning French then you’ll find that mastering the pronunciation can be quite challenging. Of all the sounds in the French language one of the hardest to pronounce correctly is the “R” sound.

This is because the part of the tongue and throat that are used to make the sound are very different from English. To make the R sound in French you need to use the back part of your tongue right above your Adam’s apple.

Then, you need to vibrate it towards the back of the soft palate of your mouth. In the video below this online teacher does an excellent job teaching the French R. Watch the video now then try it on your own!
