This is a very well-designed course for picking up French, particularly for someone who might have done a bit at school, but lost confidence. It’s progressive and stretches you just enough with each step. It’s like having a conversation with a patient, French friend who teaches you whilst chatting.
I looking forward to go to France to try it out…

French Today is helpful and easy to understand, with good customer support via email.
    Two significant complaints:
There is no phone support. It feels like an automated system from a large corporation without a live person.
Also, the testimonials on your site are interminable. I understand there is positive feedback which is helpful to see but the unduly length makes the perception much less positive.
Thank You for helping improve my skills !

Thank you for your review, Jas.
Because we sell audiobooks throughout the whole world, and we are just a 2-person company, phone support is not realistically feasible. We answer support emails, usually within 24 hours and often much faster.
As far as “testimonials on your site are interminable”, we’re sorry our customers like our products so much. :-) Like an Amazon or any online store, we post all customer reviews, but you don’t have to read them all! ;-) Cheers. Olivier

I have been very pleased with the way the course has been introduced to a beginner like me. I have set my plan up to follow the course and feel very confident so far. The support is also very good,so much help available.

I took several years of French in school, many years ago, and just recently decided to pick it back up again. This left me not really knowing what level to start with – I can read ok, but have gaping, random holes in my memory. Listening comprehension is nonexistent.
The audible method provided here is exactly what I wanted; I love being able to listen slowly, and then faster to test my understanding. There is plenty of time for me to repeat it aloud as well and practice my pronunciation.
The explanations have been a very helpful review at the same time.

I recently retired and moved to France. And I need to learn (better) French. So I ordered the audiobook A moi Paris beginner – advanced (L1 – L8). I really like the practical approach in which is included the (social) habits in France. That gives me confidence when interacting with the locals. A well deserved five star rating!

I got involved with French Today several years ago. The method is exactly the way that I learned French as a young child when I went to France with my mother to visit family in Normandy.

Now, I have a 10 year old grandson who loves Camille and the way she presents information. His favorite is the work Camille and Layla did with MineCraft. He knew the game so listening to it in French was perfect for him to pick up vocabulary.

We’ve also done a few verb drills and we are currently working on numbers. FrenchToday is a wonderful system to learn French as a young child would.

    Excellent format and progression.
Well laid out content for easy selective reviews.
Not sure how to download the text. This is not a negative, however, it reflects my limits.

I’ve done Pimsleur Levels 1 – 5 (twice in fact, and, am going through it again when I’m in the car– I’m a big believer in reviewing, reviewing reviewing), but was looking for another program. I also wanted to find a program for my wife, who has tried Pimsleur but wanted something with a bit more in the way of explanation. I decided to give French Today a try and just started at the very beginning. At this point it’s mostly review, but I still feel like I am learning. I look forward to the next levels. I particularly like being able to listen at the different speeds. I watch a fair amount of French TV through the magic of Prime and Netflix and wish I could slow them down (pro tip: they speak more slowly in shows made in Belgium). Anyway, I have been enjoying the program and find the volume of explanatory material to be just right — informative and illuminating without being overwhelmingly academic.

My one critical comment would be that since the chapters in A moi Paris are set up as dialogues, it would help the listener if there were two people — two voices — rather than just a single voice doing everything.

We have traveled many times to France in our Motorhome. However, I was often embarrassed by the fact that I still understood little of the language. I have now retired so have time to put that right
I have chosen French Today Beginners over the others available because the context used and the style of learning suits my everyday experiences. I found that other systems seem to concentrate on writing rather than naturally spoken French.
French Today is working for me and I seem to be making progress and gaining confidence in speaking out loud. With each trip to France, I seem to be able to communicate a little better but more importantly I have the confidence to try.
Still a long way to go but I am enjoying the progress that I seem to be making.

For anyone who has ever thought that they couldn’t learn a language, French Today will prove you wrong!! Camille’s approach is brilliant and introduces you to the way ‘real’ french people speak while providing you with the supporting grammar to give you the confidence to engage in french.

The books are great value and Camille is also incredibly generous with her knowledge through her daily posts and free resources. I’m saving up for my next purchase!
