French Taxi Phrases & Vocabulary

In this lesson you will learn some basic vocabulary words and phrases for taking a taxi in French. Specifically, you’ll learn how to give the cab driver directions, tell him when to stop and that you want to get off. First read through the phrases below then practice your pronunciation with the video that follows.

  • Où est-ce que je peux trouver un taxi libre? Where can I find a free taxi?
  • J’aimerais aller à la gare du nord, s’il vous plaît. I’d like to go to North Station, please.
  • Je voudrais réserver un taxi pour demain à 20 heures. I’d like to reserve a taxi for tomorrow at 8pm.
  • Il n’y a plus de taxis à Paris. There are no more taxis in Paris.
