Quoique meaning
Quoique is a French conjunction meaning “although” or “even though.” It’s normally followed by a verb in the subjunctive. It can also be followed directly by an adjective, especially in more formal French. For example: Quoiqu’il soit odieux (Although he’s obnoxious) or Quoique bosseur (Although hardworking).

The IPA pronunciation of se casser is /sə ka.se/, which sounds approximately like “suh kah-say.”

Quoique nous soyons au mois de juin, il fait un peu frais.
It’s a bit cool out although it’s June.
Nous devons inviter Martin à la fête quoiqu‘il soit odieux.
We must invite Martin to the party although he’s obnoxious.

Although hardworking, he doesn’t make a good living.
