Free Time Hobbies

One of the most common subjects that we like to discuss is what kinds of activities we like to do for fun. Here you’ll find a complete list of questions which you can use as the basis for a French conversation class.

  1. Est‐ce que tu as assez de temps libre? Oui ou non et pourquoi? Do you have enough free time? Yes or no and why?
  2. Est‐ce que tu as du temps libre le dimanche? Qu’est‐ce que tu fais le dimanche? Do you have free time on Sundays? What do you do on Sundays?
  3. Est‐ce que tu as assez de temps libre en semaine? Qu’est‐ce que tu fais pendant ce temps? Do you have enough free time during the week? What do you do during this time?
  4. Combien d’heures de temps libre est‐ce que tu as le soir après le travail? Comment est‐ce que tu utilises ce temps? How many hours of free time do you have during the evening after work? How do you use this time?
  5. Est‐ce que tu as du temps libre le matin? Qu’est‐ce que tu fais pendant ce temps? Do you have free time in the morning? What do you do during this time?
  6. Est‐ce que tu planifies tes weekends bien en avance ou est‐ce que tu attends au dernier moment pour faire des projets? Do you plan your weekends well in advance or do you wait until the last minute to make plans?
  7. D’habitude où est‐ce que tu passes ton temps libre? Where do you usually spend your free time?
  8. Avec qui est‐ce que tu passes le temps? Préfères‐tu passer ton temps libre tout(e) seul(e) ou avec un(e) ami(e)? Who do you spend your free time with? Do you prefer to spend your free time alone or with a friend?
  9. Est‐ce que tu passes beaucoup ou peu de temps en ligne? Passes‐tu beaucoup ou peu de temps avec les sites médias sociaux? Do you spend a little or a lot of time online? Do you spend time on social media sites?

  11. Où est‐ce que tu aimes traîner? Est‐ce que tu vas souvent à ces endroits? Where do you like to hang out? What do you do in these places?
  12. Où est‐ce que les jeunes dans ta ville passent leur temps libre? Et les personnes âgées? Where do young people in your town like to spend their free time? How about older people?
  13. Est‐ce que les hommes et les femmes dans ta région passent leur temps libre dans la même façon ou dans une façon differente? Do men and women in your region spend their free time doing the same or different things?
  14. Si tout d’un coup tu as appris que demain est un jour de congé qu’est‐ce que tu ferais? If you suddenly learned you have tomorrow off what would you do?
  15. Est‐ce que tu as déjà changé de passe‐temps dans ta vie? Qu’est‐ce que tu faisais avant que tu ne fais plus maintenant? Qu’est‐ce que tu fais aujourd’hui que tu ne faisais pas avant? Have you changed hobbies during your lifetime? What did you used to do that you don’t do anymore? What do you do today that you didn’t do before?
  16. Est‐ce que tu peux faire une carrière avec ton passe‐temps favori? Comment est‐ce que tu atteindrais cet objectif? Can you make a career with your favorite hobby? How would you reach this goal?
  17. Est‐ce que tu a un(e) conseiller/conseillère qui t’aide avec ton passe-temps? Do you have a mentor who helps you with your hobby?
  18. Est‐ce que tu peux prendre des leçons ou suivre un cours pour améliorer tes compétences? Can you take lessons or classes to help you with your skills?
  19. Quel passe‐temps est‐ce que tu aimerais essayer que tu n’as jamais fait avant? What hobby would you like to try that you never did before?
  20. Est‐ce qu’il y a un passe‐temps que tu aimerais essayer mais n’as jamais essayé parce que c’est trop cher? Is there a hobby that you’d like to try but never tried because it was too expensive?
