Regular -RE verbs are less common than -ER or -IR verbs, but they follow a simple pattern. In the infinitive form, they end in -re. To conjugate them, drop the -re and add the endings.

How to Conjugate Regular -RE Verbs

Take the verb vendre (to sell). The stem is vend-. The endings are:

  • je -s
  • tu -s
  • il/elle/on (no ending)
  • nous -ons
  • vous -ez
  • ils/elles -ent

👉 Example with attendre (to wait):

  • j’attends
  • tu attends
  • il/elle/on attend
  • nous attendons
  • vous attendez
  • ils/elles attendent
