Néanmoins Meaning
Néanmoins is a French connector word meaning “nevertheless,” “nonetheless,” or “however.” It is used to introduce a contrast with what was just said and is close in meaning to cependant and toutefois. Néanmoins is fairly formal and is especially common in written French. For example, “Il était fatigué, néanmoins il a continué à travailler” (He was tired; nevertheless, he continued working).
Néanmoins Pronunciation
The IPA pronunciation of néanmoins is /ne.ɑ̃.mwɛ̃/, which sounds approximately like “nay-ahn-mwan.”
