Vinaigrette Meaning
Vinaigrette is a feminine French noun meaning “vinaigrette” or “salad dressing.” Traditionally, une vinaigrette is a simple dressing made with oil and vinegar, often with mustard, salt, and pepper. In French, it is commonly used with verbs such as faire (to make), préparer (to prepare), and assaisonner (to season). For example, “Je préfère une vinaigrette maison” (I prefer a homemade vinaigrette).

The IPA pronunciation of vinaigrette is /vi.nɛ.ɡʁɛt/, which sounds approximately like “vee-neh-gret.”
